Black History October 2015

Black History Week – 12th to 16th October 2015

Next week in school we will be celebrating our Black History Week. As it is going to be another Olympics year during the school academic year, each year group has chosen a black Olympian champion to find out about. (Year 6 – Tessa Sanderson; Year 5 – Ade Adepitan; Year 4 – Kelly Holmes; Year 3 – Usain Bolt;

 

Year 2 – Jessica Ennis; Year 1 – Mo Farah; Reception and Nursery – Denise Lewis) The children will also enjoy some African dancing and storytelling. On Friday of next week (23^rd October), everyone is invited to dress up in some way to depict their particular Olympian or in African costume.

 

 

Certificate of Achievement was awarded to Safina in 5BE who won second prize for her poem “It’s Black History”.
