Year Four 2013-14
Warwick Castle May 2014
On Thursday 8th May, Year 4 visited Warwick Castle as part of our castles topic. We saw the drawbridge being lowered and raised, watched archery and birds of prey shows, looked around the Great Hall and climbed the castle walls and towers!

On a visit to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, we made Greek masks which would have been worn by actors in a play.

Creative Arts week 2014
Our topic was celebrations so we made festive crackers. We printed the paper, made paper hats, wrote the jokes and made a paper toy to go inside before rolling them up

Year 4 Indian Models
Children in 4B made models of famous Indian landmarks at home.
Dear Parents
This half term in Year 4 we will be looking at:
Literacy:
Children will be writing diaries and reports connected to our topic of castles.
Numeracy:
Children will be learning about securing number facts and understanding shape as well as handling data and measures.
Science:
Children will be learning about FRICTION. They will be learning about how objects move overdifferent surfaces, pushes and pulls and how to use force meters.
Topic:
Our topic for this half term is CASTLES. The children will be learning about the purpose of castles, the structure and parts of a castle and what it was like to live in a castle. In addition, the children will be visiting Warwick Castle.
ICT:
During ICT this half term, the children will be creating WIKIPAGES online about themselves and castles.
PE:
Children will be developing striking and fielding skills when playing CRICKET this half term. They will be improving their ability to bowl, field the ball and hit a straight drive. Children will continue to swim on a Wednesday morning.
PATHS:
In PATHS this half term, we shall continue to learn and think about FRIENDSHIPS.
